Lorcana Set 8: Reign of Jafar is set to release on June 6, bringing over 200 new cards to the game and shaking up the meta! This set introduces fresh tools to support new and unique deck archetypes, adding more variety and creativity to gameplay. At the same time, many existing decks are likely to receive key upgrades, boosting their consistency and strengthening their overall strategies.
In this article, I’ll be sharing a few exciting new deck ideas to try out during the early days of Set 8!
Amber Sapphire

The Amber Sapphire deck by BDeCandio7 uses Belle’s early pressure to put your opponent in a tough spot, forcing them to play defensively around Belle. We have multiple Ramp cards like Tipo, Ludwig Von Drake, and Sail The Azurite Sea to speed up your game plan, trying to get to 6 Ink as early as possible.
From there, you’ll aim to Kit Cloudkicker – Navigator, putting an early 5 Willpower Character than Quests for 4 Lore, forcing the opposing player to remove him as early as possible.
Once we’re at 6 Ink, we plan to play Prince Naveen – Ukulele Player and cast Down in New Orleans for free, which lets us look at the top 3 cards of our deck and play a 6-cost or less Character, item, or location. Robin Hood – Unrivaled Archer and Judy Hopps – Resourceful Rabbit are the premium cards to play from Down in New Orleans, setting up a strong turn to put you ahead of your opponent.
Amber Steel Mushu

The Amber Steel deck is trying to win the board presence through sheer challenges! Multiple Characters in this list, like The Coachman – Greedy Deceiver and Namaari – Single-Minded Rival, can gain Strength through their abilities, allowing you to banish higher Willpower Characters.
Mushu – Fast-Talking Dragon gives your Characters Rush, allowing you to challenge with them on the turn they’re played. As for the ushu – Majestic Dragon, he enables stronger challenges by giving your attacker +2 Resist, keeping it from getting banished when it goes for the attack. On top of that, Mushu – Fast-Talking Dragon generates 2 Lore when you banish a Character through a Challenge, getting you closer to winning the game.
Amethyst Sapphire Lockdown

From LookAtTheBacon, this deck is trying to lock down the opponent’s board by preventing their Characters from becoming Ready. They Never Come Back, Ursula – Sea Witch, Bruno Madrigal – Single-Minded, and Anna – Ice Breaker can prevent exerted Characters from being Ready on the upcoming turn, effectively weakening your opponent’s plays. This means they can’t challenge or Quest with those Characters, making it harder for them to control the board, especially if you have The Queen’s Castle – Mirror Chamber in play.
Into the Unknown can also remove the opponent’s exerted Character by placing it in their inkwell, helping you get rid of a win condition.
The three Elsa Characters in the list can exert opponent’s Characters, making it easier for us to challenge and banish them or keep them exerted through our other cards.
Amber Ruby Racers

This deck plays fast using Fix It Felix – Pint Sized Hero, Vanellope von Schweetz – Gutsy Go-Getter, and Taffyta Muttonfudge – Sour Speedster synergy with locations to get the most out of your Sugar Rush Speedway – Starting Line and Sugar Rush Speedway – Finish Line. You’re able to gain more Lore and draw cards through the abilities of your Characters and locations.
You don’t mind getting your racers banished as cards like King Candy – Sugar Rush Nightmare and King Candy – Royal Racer activate their abilities when your Racers are banished. This allows you to challenge and sacrifice those racers to gain more value from those cards.
Whenever you return a Racer card from your discard, Fix It Felix Jr – Pint-Sized Hero lets you ready a Racer card in play. That Character can’t Quest, but it can challenge a Character or be left Ready to prevent your opponent from challenging it. We have King Candy – Sugar Rush Nightmare, Calhoun – Courageous Rescuer, and Wreck-It Ralph – Big Lug to return Racer Characters from your discard.
