Exciting games in the Hiroshima, Japan Season 2 Championship Series where we got to watch the best players battle it out to win first place. The finals ended up with Blue Dofmlamingo squaring off against none other than Black Yellow Luffy.
Black Yellow Luffy has lost a lot of popularity compared to OP08 meta, but it remains apparently, it’s still a great choice to bring, especially in a meta that isn’t trying to actively counter it.
Top 32 Breakdown
12 Blue Doflamingo | 2 Black Teach |
7 Black Rob Lucci | 1 Black Blue Usopp |
3 Red Shanks | 1 Black Yellow Luffy |
3 Yellow Eustass”Captain”Kid | 1 Yellow Enel |
2 Purple Luffy |
1st Place Black Yellow Luffy
Black Yellow Monkey D. Luffy crushes it in Japan’s Championship Series, beating the popular Blue Doflamingo, and is crowned the champion!
This deck wants to drop on Life cards and use Leader effect to cheat out 5-cost Luffy or Sabo. This list isn’t running Ace, so it’s more relying on controlling the field with Kingdom Come and going for a late-game win instead of using Ace’s Rush attack to speed up its strategy.
Kuzan is great for the extra draw and cost reduction, combined with Rocket Luffy, you can KO up to 9-cost Characters and weaken your opponent’s attack turns. The Power you gain on Leader Luffy from the kid brothers will make it difficult for most decks to get their attacks through.
2nd Place Blue Doflamingo
Blue Doflamingo is currently the most popular deck in OP10 meta, with an aggressive strategy that makes it difficult for most decks to keep up with. Cheating out Characters with Leader effect and Jinbe puts insane pressure on the opposing player, enough that you can put your focus on targeting their Leader and forcing them to play defensively.
OP10 Doffy lists have changed to include Jozu to shift the field presence in your favor by removing one of their 6-cost or less Characters. Interestingly, this list has 1 copy of 9-cost Dracule Mihawk that can remove a 7-cost Character.
Trafalgar Law, Jozu, 9-cost Mihawk, and Gum-Gum Red Roc are great control cards to make sure opponents have a tough time controlling your side of the field.
