Dialga Ex Melmetal Deck Guide – Pokemon Pocket

Dialga ex Melmetal is a ramp deck in Pokemon Pocket that accelerates Metal Energy with Dialga ex’s Metallic Turbo, setting up Melmetal’s Heavy Impact for big knockouts.

Dialga Ex is one of the new Pokemon ex in the A2 Space-Time Smackdown expansion. This is a ramp Pokemon that can be built differently thanks to its synergy with Metal and Colorless type attacks. Any Pokemon with a Colorless cost attack can work with Dialga ex, making it easier for you to make high-cost attacks work.

This list is built around the Metal type Pokemon, Skarmory and Melmetal, supporting Dialga ex as secondary attackers to net you the win.

Dialga Ex Melmetal

How to Play

Early Damage

Skarmory is an early attacker, needing only 1 Metal Energy to attack with Metal Arms. You’re dealing 20 damage, but attaching a Tool like Rocky Helmet or Giant Cape will bump your damage to 50 per attack. This helps you push early damage if you don’t have Dialga ex.

Dialga Ramp

Dialga ex is a ramp Pokemon, using Metallic Turbo to attach 2 Metal type Energy to one of your Benched Pokemon while dealing 30 damage to the opponent’s Active Pokemon. You’re not pushing lots of damage, but mostly focusing on getting more Energy on your Bench.

You can then either move an Energy using Dawn to Dialga ex and go for a Heavy Impact attack to deal 100 damage. However, in many situations, you’ll prefer retreating Dialga ex for Melmetal and have it carry from there.

Melmetal

Melmetal has a high-cost attack, so ramping up with Dialga ex‘s Metallic Turbo accelerates your strategy while having Meltan on the Bench and evolving it into Melmetal. You technically only need 2 Energy from Dialga ex on Melmetal and then you can attach an Energy from the Energy Zone and use Dawn to move an Energy to Melmetal.

The Heavy Impact attack deals 120 damage, enough to knock out most of the opponent’s Pokemon, especially if they’re damaged by Dialga ex or Rocky Helmet.

Melmetal‘s Hard Coat ability weakens opponent’s attack by 20, making it harder for them to one-shot Melmetal, especially if you attach Giant Cape on it.

Draw Cards

Poke Ball will draw you a basic Pokemon, helping you find Dialga ex or Meltan when they’re needed.

Professor’s Research is a Supporter card to draw 2 cards. Since it’s a Supporter card, you want to play it early into the game since you’ll want to play your other Supporters in the late game.

Battle Cards

Dawn moves an Energy from your Benched Pokemon to an Active Pokemon, allowing you to attach a turn earlier. This card is perfect in this list since you’re ramp with Dialga ex gives you earlier attacks with Melmetal, and if you’re missing 1 Energy, you can X-Speed Dialga ex to the Bench and then Dawn to move an Energy to Melmetal.

Rocky Helmet is great for dishing out 20 damage when your opponent attacks your Active Pokemon. It makes it easier for you to knock out that damaged Pokemon later in the game.

Giant Cape tool gives 20 HP to your attached Pokemon, making it harder for your opponent to knock it out. It’s usually perfect to play it on Melmetal to prevent your opponent from one-shotting it.

X-Speed reduces the retreat cost of your Pokemon, allowing you to retreat it to safety without having to discard as much Energy. It’s perfect if you want to retreat Meltan in the early game to move Dialga ex to the Active spot.

Sabrina forces opponents to switch out their Active Pokemon with one of their Benched Pokemon. This can allow you to knock out a more valuable Pokemon or slow opponent’s strategy and force them to retreat and discard Energy to get their plan back on track.

Since we’re dealing a lot of damage to the opponent’s Pokemon, Cyrus is great in this list, giving us the ability to pull a damaged Pokemon on the Bench to the Active spot and attack it directly.
