Silvally Rampardos Deck Guide – Pokemon TCG Pocket

The Silvally Rampardos deck is the latest version of the single-point Fighting-type deck in the A3a Extradimensional Crisis meta! This deck uses Colorless Silvally to support Rampardos‘ heavy hits, allowing you to deliver strong attacks and force your opponent to knock out three of your Pokémon to win the game.

We’re taking a look at how the deck works, what makes it so strong, and I’ll share other cards you can include in your list.

Silvally

A3a-060
A3a-061

We’re guaranteed to have Type: Null in hand at the start of the game, and since it’s a Colorless-type Pokémon, we can attach Fighting-type Energy to attack with it. Quick Blow deals 20 damage to the opponent’s Active Pokémon, but you’ll also flip a Coin; if it’s heads, you deal 40 instead. A great early attack to soften up your opponent’s Active Pokémon to knock it out on the upcoming turn.

We then want to evolve Type: Null into Silvally and then go for the Brave Buddies attack to deal 50 damage to the opponent’s Active Pokémon. However, if we play a Supporter card, we boost Silvally‘s attack damage to deal 50 more, becoming a 100 damage attack.

Rampardos

A2-089

Rampardos is a Stage 2 Pokémon, and although it’s not an ex-type Pokémon, it is the heavy hitter in this deck to knock out high HP Pokémon. You need to have Skull Fossil in play as early as possible, and since it’s not considered a Basic Pokémon while in your deck, you’re not guaranteed to draw it in your starter hand.

However, once it’s in play, it’s considered a Basic Pokémon, so you can use Rare Candy to evolve into Rampardos. Rampardos is a 150 HP Pokémon that requires only 1 Energy to go for the heavy Head Smash attack, dealing 130 damage to the opponent’s Active Pokémon. On the downside, activating Head Smash will deal 50 damage back to Rampardos, putting it in a vulnerable spot to getting KO’d on the upcoming turn.

Gladion can draw you a Silvally, making sure you get to have it in play as early as possible to go for the 100 damage attacks.

Professor’s Research is a Supporter card to draw 2 cards. Since it’s a Supporter card, you want to play it early in the game, since you’ll want to play your other Supporters in the late game.

Since we’re heavily reliant on finding Skull Fossil and Rare Candy, Iono makes sense to shuffle back the cards in our hand and draw that many cards, helping us fix our hand and find Rare Candy.

Battle Support Cards

Red is perfect if we’re battling an ex-type Pokémon with high HP, allowing us to increase our attack damage by 20 to one-shot it.

Cyrus is great to pull a damaged Pokémon to the Active spot, allowing you to attack and knock it out. It can win you games by securing Match Points.

Guzma discards all of the opponent’s attached Tools, disrupting their strategy. It can help you get a knock-out on a Pokémon with Giant Cape, or weaken their damage output by removing a Rocky Helmet.

Other Cards to Include

  • Pokémon Center Lady heals your Pokémon for 30 damage and recovers from all Special Conditions. It can be great to keep your Pokémon in play for longer and prevent Rampardos from knocking itself out.
  • Sabrina forces your opponent to move one of their Benched Pokémon to the Active spot for you to attack them.
  • Although Red is great against ex-type Pokémon, if we’re in a meta heavy with single-point decks, then Giovanni will be a better choice in the deck.
