Scolipede Weezing is a low-budget deck that uses Poison as part of its game plan. This deck quickly became a popular choice in Pokemon Pocket’s Mythical Island meta. The Darkness deck can take a bit to set up, but Weezing is the best you’ll ever find for stalling out games and preventing opponents from getting easy knockouts.
In a meta where Ex Pokemon dominate, this single-point deck is one of the best options to play, forcing the opposing player to knock out 3 of your Pokemon if they wish to win the game.

How to Play
Early Weezing
The Koffing into Weezing line is what we’re looking for in the early game, buying us time to set up our Stage 2 Scolipede to carry the late game. Weezing is a 110 HP Pokemon, capable of taking a couple of early hits and only needing 1 Darkness Energy to attack. With Tackle, you can deal 30 damage with Weezing, which isn’t much, but combined with Gas Leak, we can threaten to knock out low HP Pokemon.
Gas Leak ability gives the opponent’s Active Pokemon Poison, slowly bleeding their health and putting them at risk of getting knocked out. This will also play into our Scolipede strategy later in the game.
Once Weezing is low on HP, we can put him in our hand with Koga, denying the opponent an easy knockout and giving Scolipede a chance to move to the Active spot.
Scolipede Carry
To get Stage Scolipede in play, we need to have Venipede as early as possible and then evolve it to Whilipede. Scolipede can evolve from Whilipede, but we’ll still use Whilipede‘s Poison Sting to deal 20 damage and put Poison on the opponent’s Active Pokemon.
Scolipede is how we win games, its Venoshock attack only needs 2 Energy to activate and deal 70 damage. However, if the opponent’s Active Pokemon is poisoned, Venoshock deals an extra 50 damage, becoming a 120-damage attack!
Weezing and Whilipede is how we Poison the opponent’s Pokemon and set the stage for one high-damage attack.
Retreat Cards
Weezing has a high retreat cost, so Koga is great to put him back in our hand. Before using Koga, we must activate Gas Leak, put Poison on the opponent’s Active Pokemon, and then return Weezing.
Leaf reduces the Retreat Cost of your Active Pokemon by 2, so you won’t rely on discarding Energy.
Battle Cards
Giovanni gives an extra 10 damage to your attack, perfect if you’re missing 10 damage to knock out a Pokemon.
Sabrina forces the opponent to switch one of their Benched Pokemon to the Active spot. This can be annoying when played at the right time, especially if the opponent can’t easily switch back the Pokemon they want to the Active spot or have a valuable Pokemon on the Bench.
Both Giovanni and Sabrina are Supporter cards so you can play only one of them a turn.
Draw Value
Play Professor’s Research, a Supporter card that allows you to draw two cards, early in the game when you don’t need to play other Supporter cards like Sabrina or Giovanni.
Poke Ball draws you a Basic Pokemon, helping you find your Basic Pokemon and thin out your deck to find the cards you need.
