Howdy! Raging Bolt ex Ogerpon ex is one of the popular Pokemon TCG decks in Shrouded Fable meta that you’ll often encounter in tournaments and Standard ranked mode. This deck can put up a lot of aggression early on, and snipe out key Pokemon on the bench that enable the opponent’s game plan.

Raging Bolt ex is the main damage dealer, but the list has Ogerpon ex as a support Pokemon that backs up Ranging Bolt ex‘s Bellowing Thunder. You have to discard the attached Basic Energy from your Pokemon to pump up Bellowing Thunder‘s damage. So Ogerpon ex‘s Teal Dance is a great support in this deck, letting you attach one Grass Basic Energy each turn, which you can discard later on.
Ogerpon ex can also be a damage dealer if need be, Myriad Leaf Shower deals 30 more damage for each Energy attached to both Active Pokemon.
The list includes cards to draw Basic Energy Attach them, which accelerates your game plan, imposing that early aggression and shutting down the opponent’s game plan.
Raging Bolt ex is the carry in this deck, capable of dishing out damage early into the game. Burst Roar is a great hand replenisher if we empty our hand early on. However, as the game progresses, we usually won’t find the time to activate it since we’re more focused on dealing damage.
Bellowing Thunder is how we deal our damage; we need Basic Lightning and Fighting energy to activate. For each Basic Energy we discard, we get to deal 70 more damage with Bellowing Thunder, so we’ll discard just enough Basic Energy to Knockout an opponent’s Pokemon.
We’re not limited to discarding Basic Energy attached to Raging Bolt ex only, any Pokemon the Bench with a Basic Energy attached can have that Basic Energy discarded to pump up the damage.
This is where Ogerpon ex‘s Teal Dance comes into use. One during your turn, you can attach 1 Basic Grass Energy from your hand to Ogerpon ex. This lets you draw a card, making sure you don’t run out of resources, while also stacking up the Basic Grass Energy to be discarded by Raging Bolt ex‘s Bellowing Thunder for more damage or to activate Myriad Leader Shower.
So Ogerpon ex operates as a support Pokemon, offering a draw engine and a way to boost our Rangine Bolt‘s attacks. However, Ogerpon ex isn’t just a supporting Pokemon, he can also act as a damage dealer with Myriad Leaf Shower. The damage you deal with it will be dependant on the number of attached Energy to both Active Pokemon. So it can be dependent on the number of attached Energy on the opponent’s Active Pokemon if it has a high health.
Draw Value
Radiant Greninja offers a draw engine with Concealed Cards, discarding one of your Energy cards to draw you two cards. Since it’s an Ability, we don’t need Radiant Greninja in the Active spot, so he can sit in the back and draw us cards. Even though we’re discarding valuable Energy cards, we can still pull them from the discard with some of the cards we run in the list, which I’ll talk about later in the guide.
Iono is a powerful hand replenisher that makes sure you don’t run out of steam. Make sure you’ve played any necessary cards before you activate Iono.
As for Earthen Vessel, finds you two Basic Energy to ensure your game plan keeps rolling.
Lastly, Fezandipiti ex offers a draw value with Flip the Script when one of your Pokemon gets Knocked Out. Three card draw every time a Pokemon is knocked out means we can at least get 6 draws in one game if Fezandipiti ex is on the bench early into the game.
Getting Cards Energy from Discard
Our deck is discarding a lot of Basic Energy through Raging Bolt and Radiant Greninja, so we need to get those Energy cards back into play.
Energy Retrieval is one way to put 2 Basic Energy cards from the discard pile into our hand. However, our stronger card is Professor Sada’s Vitality, letting us choose two of our Ancient Pokemon and attach a Basic Energy from the discard pile to each of them. So Ranging Bolt ex and Flutter Mane are two Ancient Pokemon we can give Basic Energy to.
Squawkabilly is another way to get two Basic Energy cards from the discard pile and attach them to 1 Benched Pokemon. You need to attach 1 Basic Energy though to Squawkabilly to activate Motivate.
Switching Plan
The switch cards are important to Knockout one of the opponent’s key Pokemon. If it’s a Pokemon capable of dealing damage, we want to knock it out! If we’re close to winning the game and need to knock out a Pokemon that gives two Prize Cards.
For aggressive play, Boss’ Orders is perfect since you don’t have to switch out your Active Pokemon. Prime Catcher forces you to switch out your Pokemon, so if you have a damage dealer in the Active spot, you’ll have to retreat the Pokemon you’ve just switched in.
Alternative Damage
Sandy Shock is an alternate damage dealer with Magnetic Burst. You only need 1 Basic Fighting Energy to start dealing damage and if you have 3 or more Energy in play, your attack gains a 70 damage boost, capable of KOing low health units. This is easy to achieve thanks to Ogerpon ex‘s Teal Dance.
Other Cards to Include.
Sandy Shocks ex‘s Magnetic Absorption lets you attach 1 Basic Fighting Energy from the discard pile under the condition that the opponent has 4 or fewer Prize cards remaining.
Earthen Spike deals 200 damage, which is good enough to knock out many Pokemon or damaged ones. However, you can’t activate it again on your upcoming turn.
