New Stellar Crown Pokemon Decks – Pokemon TCG

The new Stellar Crown expansion is coming to Pokemon TCG on the 13th of September, This set will have 175 new cards: 142 in the main set and 33 secret rares. Since these cards have already been played in Japan, we can get an idea of how players built their new decks using the Stellar Crown cards.

Hydrapple ex

Hydrapple ex is the new Teal Mask Ogerpon ex Pokemon in Stellar Crown, it’s ability, Hype Charge, lets you attach 1 Basic Grass Energy to one of your Pokemon, healing that Pokemon for 30 damage. Syrup Storm’s damage is tied to the number of Grass Energy attached to Hydrapple ex, and since we have 15 Grass Energy in the deck, we’ll be attaching a lot. Teal Mask Ogerpon ex is doing the same, attaching Energy and drawing cards, cycling through your deck faster.

Hydrapple ex’s Syrum Storm is the main damage dealer, which will gain an extra 30 damage for each Energy attached to all your Pokemon. So with Hydrapple ex and Teal Mask Ogerpon ex attaching Energ cards to themselves, you can create powerful attacks early into the game that knock out high-health Pokemon.

Cinderace ex

If you’re a fan of Charizard ex, the Cinderace ex might be right up your alley. Cinderace ex has two powerful attacks, the Flare Strike is the strongest damage dealer, pushing 280 damage to the opponent’s Pokemon. However, when Flare Strike is used, you can’t reactivate it on the upcoming turn. Luckily, Cinderace ex has Garnet Volley as a second attack, which needs a different Energy attachment but it deals 180 damage, enough to knock out certain Pokemon or damaged ones. The neat thing is since Flare Strike needs two Colorless Energy cards, you can attach the Fighting and Darkness Energy along with Fire Energy to activate both attacks.

Crispin is a new Supporter card that synergizes well in this deck, allowing you to search your deck for 2 Basic Energy cards of different types, put 1 of them in your hand, and attach the other to one of your Pokemon.

Since the list has Darkness Energy, players are including Munkidori for the Adrena-Brain to move Counter damage one of your opponent’s Pokemon, helping you set up Knockouts.

Galvantula ex

This deck revolves around Galvantula ex and Blissey ex as win conditions. Joltik is a key part of this deck’s game plan, providing valuable resources with its Battery Charge attack. Joltik can search your deck for 2 Grass Energy cards and 2 Lightning Energy cards and attach them to your Pokemon any way you like. One of the strongest methods to attach Energy cards and accelerate your game plan, setting up attacks with Galvantula ex or Blissey ex on earlier turns.

Galvantula ex has two powerful attacks. Charge Web is easier to set up, dealing 110 damage and if the opponent has an ex or V Pokemon in the Active spot, then you’re dealing 220 damage!

It’s second attack, Fulgurite, though deals 180 damage and discards all energy from this Pokemon. Although you’re discarding all Energy, but it’s ability to shut down opponents from playing any Item cards during their upcoming turn can be a game changer.

Blissey ex is great in this deck because of her ability to move a Basic Energy from one Pokemon to another. So you can attach Basic Energy from the discard pile with Glass Trumpet to two Blissey ex and then move them to Galvantula ex. If you attack Sparkling Crystal to Galvantula ex, you’ll now only need 2 Energy to activate your attack.

Terapagos ex

Terapagos ex’s Unified Beatdown deals 30 damage for each of your Benched Pokemon, so it comes in useful for the early stages of the game. There are versions that don’t use Terapagos ex’s Crown Opal, but this one has the Basic Grass, Water, and Lightning Energy cards to set up Crown Opal play.

Using Area Zero Underdepths, you’re able to bench up to 8 Pokemon, increasing Terapagos ex’s Unified Beatdown up to 240 damage!

Noctowl’s Jewel Seeker and Fan Rotom’s Fan Call abilities offer draw resources, helping you find the cards you need to set up your game plan. Bouffalant offers a protection layer to your Basic Colerless Pokemon with its Curly Wall. They’ll take 60 less damage from the opponent’s attack, making them work harder to knock out your Pokemon.
