New OP10 Leader Decks to Play – One Piece Card Game

Lets take a look at the new OP10 Leaders Kid, Law, Usopp, Smoker, Sugar, and Caesar Clown and how they work in their own respective decks.

OP10 has officially launched in the East, and players are already testing the new Leaders in tournaments! There are six new Leaders, each with unique effects that demand distinct deck-building. I’ll be sharing a list of Leaders who either performed well in recent tournaments or show strong potential in the new OP10 meta.

In this guide, we’ll break down how each Leader functions and explore the new cards that synergize with their strategies.

Green Yellow Trafalgar Law

The Green Yellow Trafalgar Law is an aggressive type deck that heavily relies on {Supernova} type Characters to synergize with the Leader effect. To activate Leader Law’s effect, you need to have Characters in play with a total cost of 5 or more and attach a Don to Leader. Then you can reveal the top card in your Life area, if that card is a {Supernova} type Character with a cost of 5 or less, you can play it on the field.

So what we’re doing is developing an extra Character for only 1 Don attached to our Leader, but we are losing one Life card, so we have to be careful when activating it multiple times. The list is packed with {Supernova} type Characters like the two 5-cost Laws, 5-cost Jewelry Bonney, and 5-cost Cavendish to ensure we find a Supernova Character to cheat out on the field.

The Leader effect isn’t the only way we can cheat out Characters, 5-cost Blocker Law can return one Character to your hand and play another 3-cost or less Character with a different color from your hand. So if we return a Green Character, we can play Characters like 3-cost Roronoa Zoro or 3-cost Jewelry Bonney. Zoro gains the Rush keyword if you have less Life cards than the opponent, and with your Leader effect self-damaging, it’s easier to drop below the opponent’s Life cards.

As for 3-cost Jewelry Bonney, she’s a blocker, but can also take the top or bottom card in your Life area and place it in your hand to replace it with a {Supernovas} type Character card with a cost of 5 from your hand to the top of your Life cards face-up. This synergizes with your Leader effect, allowing you to activate the Leader effect afterward and ensure the next card you play is a 5-cost Supernova.

7-cost Trafalgar Law’s effect is perfect for this deck, allowing you to add a 5-cost Supernova Character to the top of your Life area so you can cheat it out through the Leader effect. On top of that, 7-cost Law gives your Leader 1 Don, so you can go for the combo play as early as Don 7.

Yellow Eustass”Captain”Kid

The new Yellow Leader Eustass”Captain”Kid has a powerful defensive effect that activates at the end of your turn. You can switch one of your {Supernova} type Characters to Active and give them the Blocker keyword. This gives you a blocker on the field to protect your Leader or a rested Character, but it also can prevent opponents from attacking a Character you just attacked with.

We have {Supernova} Characters like 4-cost Basil Hawkins, 6-cost Cavendish, 7-cost Trafalgar Law, and 8-cost Eustass”Captain”Kid that can be used with your Leader effect. If the opposing player KO’s 4-cost Basil Hawkins, they’re forced to trash a Life card, cutting down on their resources and making it easier for you to win the game. 8-cost Eustass”Captain”Kid can also trash the opponent’s top Life card when played on the field, but you’ll have to rest him to activate the effect. However, with our Leader effect, we can turn him back to Active and give him the Blocker keyword to use the 9,000 Power to block one of the opponent’s attacks. Nico Robin is another Character that can trash an opponent’s Life card, So the list is packed with cards that trash Life cards, making sure opponents lose on resources and making it easier for you to win the late game.

This list has 9-cost Yamato and 10-cost Portagas.D.Ace to give you a Life card and ensure you don’t lose the game too easily. They also have powerful effect that can help you keep control of the field.

Red Green Smoker

Red Green Smoker has two effects, one can be activated during your opponent’s turn, while the other is activated during your turn. The effect during your opponent’s turn works only on {Punk Hazard} and {Navy} type Characters, giving them +1,000 Power. This is useful when the opponent is trying to KO them, the extra Power can put them out of threat range or demand fewer Counter cards from you. As for the other effect, if you have a Character with 7,000 or more Power, you can set two of your Don as Active. This enables you to make more plays in one turn or develop on the field and maintain your pressure with high-power attacks.

3-cost Sanji and 5-cost Smoker are powerful {Punk Hazard} Characters you can protect with your Leader effect. 3-cost Sanji only has 3,000 Power, but during your turn he gains +3,000 Power, becoming a 6,000 Power attacker. When KO’d 3-cost Sanji draws you a card, so you won’t be losing on resources. As for 5-cost Smoker, the Banish keyword means we’ll prioritize attacking the opponent’s Leader with him, forcing them to Counter the attack or trash a Life card. As for the second effect, it sets one of your Don as Active. Combined with your Leader effect, you’re gaining 3 Active Don for one explosive turn.

This list has the Fortress strategy, using Eustass”Captain”Kid and 2-cost Rosinante to shut down opponents from attacking your Leader or rested Characters.

Blue Black Usopp

The Blue Black Usopp is a value Leader with a built-in draw mechanic. Whenever one of your {Dressrosa} type Characters is removed from the field through the opponent’s effect or is KO’d, you get to draw a card. However, you can only draw a card if you have 5 cards or less in your hand. Leader Usopp also gives your 2-cost or less {Dressrosa} type Characters +1 cost.

We’re running Corrida Coliseum Stage in this deck, which allows our {Dressrosa} type Characters to attack the turn they’re played. This sort of means they all have Rush, but you can’t attack opponents Leader. This lets you find value from them immediately and adds more pressure on the opposing player to protect their rested Characters.

To ensure we keep the opponent’s side of the field under control, we have 4-cost Roronoa Zoro to KO one of the opponent’s 4-cost Characters. You will have to rest 1 of your {Dressrosa} type Leader or Stage cards to activate his effect. Corrida Coliseum Stage is a great target to rest to continue attacking with your Leader.

This deck can go wide on the field by developing multiple Characters in one turn with 7-cost Rebecca, creating a wide field too difficult for opponents to keep up with.

Red Purple Sugar

Red Purple Sugar has two effects, the first effect requires you to have a 6,000 Power or more {Donquixote Pirates} type Character in play to activate, setting one of your rested Don as Active at the end of your turn. This allows us to play an Event during the opponent’s turn, and when we do, we’ll activate Leader Sugar’s second effect, setting an Active Don from our Don deck, effectively ramping up.

We have 5-cost Donquixote Rosinante and 5-cost Senor Pink to help us activate Sugar’s Ramp effect since they’re 6,000 Power {Donquixote Pirates} type Characters. The list is packed with Events that can be played during your opponent’s turn, some of which have powerful effects that require you to return Don, so Leader Sugar’s ability will remain useful in the late game. I Do Not Forgive Those Who Laugh at My Family!!! is the best Event in the early game to activate Leader Sugar’s effect and ramp up.

For the late game, we have cards like 8-cost Donquixote Doflamingo that returns a Don to cheat out a 5-cost or less {Donquixote Pirates} type Character. He can also ramp us back during the opponent’s turn but has to rest a Don to do so.

9-cost Monkey D.Luffy is great for his Rush attack, putting pressure on the opposing player and drawing us a card. As for 10-cost Shanks, the KO effect is great against high-cost Characters we’re struggling to deal with.

Red Blue Caesar Clown

Red Blue Caesar Clown has a control effect that allows you to KO one of the opponent’s Characters with a cost of 4,000 or less. However, to activate this effect, you need to attach 2 Don to Caesar Clown and return 1 of your {Punk Harzard} type Characters to your hand. Returning a Character to your hand can be useful as it lets you reactivate your Characters On Play effects when replayed on the field.

This list has multiple cards to reduce the Power of the opponent’s Characters like Monet, Otama, Mocha, and Gum-Gum UFO, enabling Leader Caesar Clown to KO higher-power Characters on the opponent’s side of the field.

Ain is the strongest cost-reduction Character, setting the Power of one of the opponent’s Characters to 0, allowing Leader Caesar to KO it on the spot. This is extremely strong against high-power Characters who you can’t afford to leave in play for too long.
