Megazone Hitmonlee Marshadow Deck Guide – Pokemon TCG Pokemon

The Fighting Lightning type deck, Megazone Hitmonlee Marshadow is one of the newest decks in A2 Space-Time Smackdown, have no ex type Pokemon! This is a competitive budget deck, perfect for F2P players to start playing competitively.

Having no EX Pokemon means opponents will have to knock out 3 of your Pokemon to win the game, giving you more time to go for additional attacks. Although this list has two colors, we’re only running Fighting-type Energy since we can get Lightning Energy through other means.

How to Play

Early Fighters

Hitmonlee can attack opponent’s Benched Pokemon, dealing 30 damage to them with Stretch Kick. It’s perfect for interrupting opponent’s strategy by knocking out a low HP Pokemon they need. Hitmonlee can also knock out damaged Pokemon that are hiding on the Bench, giving you the Match Point you need to win the game.

Hitmonchan is an early attacker, dealing 30 damage with its Jab attack. It’s not a huge threat but can get you an early knockout on low health Pokemon or at least put it low enough for your other Pokemon to knock out.

As for Marshadow, it’s the perfect Pokemon to move to the Active spot when one of your Pokemon was knocked out the previous turn. Its Revenge attack goes from 40 to 100 damage.

Magnezone Carry

We’re looking for Magnemite as early as possible to evolve it into Magneton. Magneton‘s Volt Charge is how we ramp Energy and get access to Lightning-type Energy. We want to have at least 2 Lightning-type Energy on Magneton before evolving it into Magenzone.

The Ramp ability reduces our need to attach as much Energy to Magenzone, allowing us to focus our early Energy attachments on our Fighting Pokemon to go for aggressive attacks.

Before evolving Magneton into Magenzone, make sure to activate Volt Charge for the Energy ramp, then evolve it and start attacking.

Magenzone is a 140 HP Pokemon, needing 1 Lighting and 2 Colorless Energy to attack with Thunder Blast and deal 110. So if you have at least 1 Lightning-type Energy, you can use your Darkness Energy Energy to attack with Magenzone. However, Magenzone‘s Thunder Blast forces you to discard a Lightning Energy from Magenzone, so we want to have at least 2 Lightning Energy to ensure we can attack twice with Thunder Blast.

Draw Cards

Poke Ball will draw you a basic Pokemon, helping you find Riolu when they’re needed.

Pokemon Communication increases the odds of finding the Pokemon we need to evolve into Lucario and Rampadros. We can choose a Pokemon in our hand and switch it with a random Pokemon from the deck, often we’ll use it to find Lucario, Cranidos, or Rampadros.

Professor’s Research is a Supporter card to draw 2 cards. You want to play it early in the game since you’ll prefer playing other Supporter cards.

Battle Cards

X-Speed reduces the retreat cost of our Active Pokemon by 1, making it easier for us to retreat out Pokemon without heavily relying on discarding Energy.

Since we’re dealing a lot of damage to the opponent’s Pokemon, Cyrus is great in this list, giving us the ability to pull a damaged Pokemon on the Bench to the Active spot and attack it directly.
