Magic Broom Deck Guide Set 4 – Disney Lorcana

The Lorcana community has always loved experimenting with Broom cards, aiming to create the ultimate Broom deck that works in the meta. Sadly, the Broom deck hasn’t seen much success and has been considered a meme archetype.

With the release of Lorcana’s Set 4, we have new Broom cards to enhance the deck, making it even more “Broomy”! This is a budget deck, so it should be affordable to build and enjoy, offering a fun playstyle that’s different from the usual.

Gameplan

This deck focuses on using Magic and Brooms as its main win condition. The strategy is to develop multiple Brooms on the board and use synergistic cards to maximize their value. Each card has unique effects, some aimed at controlling the board and preventing the opponent from safely questing.

Low-End Brooms

Magic Broom – Illuminary Keeper, Magic Broom – Bucket Brigade, Magic Broom – Aerial Cleaner are key for early game development, ensuring the opponent doesn’t gain control. They’re also prime targets for shifting into higher-cost Brooms later on.

Magic Broom – Aerial Cleaner is particularly useful for challenging Evasive Characters, potentially thwarting opponents’ plans to sneak Lore with characters like Minnie Mouse – Stylish Surfer.

Easier Development

Aim to play Mickey Mouse – Wayward Sorcerer on turn 4 to benefit from his cost reduction effect, making it easier to play multiple cards on turn 5. His +2 Lore when questing pressures opponents to banish him quickly.

Mickey Mouse – Wayward Sorcerer‘s ability doesn’t end there. As long as he’s on the board, any Broom character that gets banished through a challenge, regardless of who initiates the challenge, you’ll get that Broom back in your hand. A powerful effect, ensuring you’re not losing on card resources while opponent is potentially losing a card and dropping behind on card value.

High-End Brooms

Our high-end Brooms to shape up our mid-game! Magic Broom – The Big Sweeper doesn’t pose much threat on its own with the 1|5 stat line. However, when combined with The Sorcerer’s Tower – Wondrous Workspace, Magic Broom – The Big Sweeper gains +2 Power, making it easier to challenge and pick of opponent’s 3 Willpower characters.

As for Magic Broom – Industrial Model, it joins the battle and gives another character +1 Resist. This lets you challenge with it and keep it safe from getting banished and even keeps that protection layer during the opponent’s turn.

Magic Broom – Swift Cleaner is the deck’s strongest Broom with a 4|4 stat line and Rush, allowing it to immediately challenge and remove threats. The Magic Broom – Swift Cleaner also shuffles all Brooms from your discard pile back into your deck, which will find use as we draw more cards.

Card Draw

Since we’re shuffling Brroms from our discard and back to our deck, card draw will be important so we don’t run out of resources and get to redraw Brooms.

Yen Sid – Powerful Sorcerer needs to see a Broom on the board to activate his effect, drawing you a card. If you have 2 Brooms on the board, Yen Sid – Powerful Sorcerer is now giving us +3 Lore when you Quest with him.

A Whole New World is essential for maintaining value, allowing you to ink more and refill your hand with resources. Typically, you’ll rely on Magic Broom – Swift Cleaner or Mickey Mouse – Playful Sorcerer to sing it rather than spending 5 Ink.

This card can disrupt opponents by forcing them to discard valuable resources and draw a new hand that might not suit their strategy. Play as many cards as possible before casting A Whole New World to maximize its effect.

Control Cards

Since our plan is to develop multiple Brooms on the board with Mickey Mouse – Wayward Sorcerer‘s cost reduction help, cards like Strength of a Raging Fire and Mickey Mouse – Playful Sourcerer are great control tools to remove threats. They both have similar abilities, reliant on the size of the board to boost their damage effect and banish a character.

Grab Your Sword is an AOE damage tool that banishes low Willpower characters or at least sets you to banish them with your characters. This card is exceptionally good against swarm decks that are trying to close out games fast.

I Find ‘Em, I Flatten ‘Em is more of a tech card against decks that are reliant on Items. Getting to Banish all Items in play can disrupt the opponent’s game plan and put them behind.
