Exeggutor Ex Celebi Ex Deck Guide – Pokemon TCG Pocket

Exeggutor Ex Celebi ex is the new monster deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket, crushing tournaments in A2 Space-Time Smackdown meta.

Exeggutor Ex Celebi Ex quickly became one of the most-played decks in Pokemon Pocket’s A2 Space-Time Smackdown meta. This is mainly because of Exeggutor’s early game strength, managing to push up to 80 damage for 1 Grass-type Energy as you set up your Celebi ex to close out games. This deck relies on Coin flips to get the most out of your Pokemon, but with a bit of luck, Exeggutor Ex Celebi Ex can crush almost any deck in Pokemon Pocket.

Exeggutor Ex has single-handedly put Grass decks back on the map, performing well with other Grass Pokemon like Yanmega Ex. The list we’ll cover today is the regular Exeggutor Ex Celebi Ex, but there are tech cards to include in this list, which I’ll talk more about at the end of this guide.

Exeggutor Ex Celebi Ex Decklist

How to Play

Early Attacker

Exeggutor Ex is a Stage 1 Pokemon that evolves from Exeggcute. It’s a tanky Pokemon, with 160 HP, so it can be tough for opponents to knock out, and it is perfect to attach Rocky Helmet to, making opponents take more damage.

Exeggutor Ex‘s Tropical Swing deals 40 damage to your opponent’s Active Pokemon and flips a coin, if it’s heads, you deal 40 more damage, becoming an 80-damage attack.

On the downside, Exeggutor Ex has a high retreat cost, so it can be tough for us to retreat him to the Bench without Leaf.

Celebi Ex

Celebi ex is how we finish games, it’s only a 130 HP Pokemon, but the Powerful Bloom can deal a whole lot of damage at the right time in the game. For 2 Energy, you can activate Power Bloom and flip a coin for each Energy attached to this Pokemon. This attack does 50 damage for each heads.

So we’re relying on the luck of the coin to deal damage with Powerful Bloom. The more Energy we attach to Celebi Ex, the higher the ceiling of our damage, and the higher our odds of getting the damage we need to knock out a certain Pokemon.

Since we’re committing only 1 Grass Energy to Exeggutor Ex, we can easily focus our resources on getting the Celebi Ex attack ready.

Draw Cards

Poke Ball will draw you a basic Pokemon, helping you find Exeggcute or Celebi Ex early into the game.

Pokemon Communication increases the odds of finding Exeggutor Ex early in the game for an aggressive strategy.

Professor’s Research is a Supporter card to draw 2 cards. You want to play it early in the game since you’ll prefer playing other Supporter cards.

Healing Cards

Erika is probably the strongest Supporter card in this deck, healing 50 damage from 1 of your Grass Pokemon. This puts one of your Pokemon out of range from opponent’s upcoming attack, preventing them from knocking out your win condition and getting Match Points.

As for Potion, is heals for 20 damage, but since its not a Supporter card, you are always able to play it and it’s not tied to Grass type Pokemon only.

Pokemon Tools

We want to attach Rocky Helmet on Exeggutor Ex, dealing 20 damage back to the opponent’s attacking Pokemon. This drops their Pokemon lower on HP, putting it in danger to your attacks on the upcoming turn.

As for Giant Cape, it gives your Pokemon +20 HP, which could put them out of range from your opponent’s attack, buying you more time to win the game.

Battle Cards

Sabrina forces the opponent to switch one of their Benched Pokemon to the Active spot. This can be annoying when played at the right time, especially if the opponent can’t easily switch back the Pokemon they want to the Active spot or have a valuable Pokemon on the Bench. It also can be used to target vulnerable Pokemon, netting you the Match Point to win the game.

Cyrus lets you switch 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon that has damage on it to the Active spot, giving you more control over which Pokemon gets to move to the Bench to attack and knock it out.

Other Card to Include

  • Mew Ex is a popular inclusion in this list, at least 1 copy of it. It’s more of a tech card against Pokemon with a high damage attack, copying it with Genome Hacking and attaching your opponent’s Pokemon with it.
  • Shaymin is only used in this deck for its Fragrant Flower Garden ability, healing each of your Pokemon for 10 damage, which can keep them from getting knocked out.

Pros & Cons

  • This deck can deal high damage, capable of knocking out anything in its path.
  • The Erika Grass healing can be a game changer. This list has multiple cards to keep your Pokemon from easily getting knocked out.
  • Celebi ex’s 130 HP makes it easy to get one-shot by many ex Pokemon.
  • You’re relying on luck with Coin flips, and there are games where you might not get the heads.
