The Archaludon Ex Metal deck has been showing up in Prismatic Evolution Regional tournaments and holding its own against the top meta decks. This deck is one of the easiest to pick up, and can go for aggressive attacks, Archaludon Ex having the ability to ramp you up means you won’t have to rely on card accelerators to get your attacks ready.

How to Play
Damage Dealer
Duraludon is a 130 HP Pokemon with two attacks, Hammer and Raging Hammer. We won’t usually use Duraludon as an attacker. Still, Raging Hammer is a powerful attack, allowing us to increase the damage of our attack by 10 more damage for each damage counter on this Pokemon.
We want to find Duraludon as early as possible to evolve it into Archaludon Ex, getting our main damage dealer on the board. When played, you can activate Archaludon Ex‘s Assemble Alloy ability, letting us attach 2 Basic Metal Energy cards from the discard pile to Metal-type Pokemon in any way we like.
This can speed up our aggression, and we’ll often discard Metal Energy from our hand to get the most out of Assmeble Alloy.
Archaludon Ex‘s Metal Defender requires 3 Metal Energy to activate and deals 220 damage to the opponent’s Active Pokemon. It also activates an ability that removes your Pokemon’s Weakness for the upcoming turn, great against Fire-type Pokemon.
Extra Damage
Relicanth is in the list for its Memory Dive ability, allowing your evolved Pokemon to use their previous Evolutions attacks. This means when it comes to Archaludon Ex, it can use Duraludon‘s Raging Hammer attack. The damage Archaludon Ex has can now be used to our advantage, and if Archaludon Ex has 150 damage or more, it will deal more damage with Raging Hammer attack than Metal Defender.
Black Belt‘s Training boosts your attacks for the turn, dealing 40 extra damage to your opponent’s Active Pokemon ex.
Draw Pokemon
Radiant Greninja‘s Concealed Cards lets you discard an Energy card to draw 2 cards. This plays into the deck’s game plan, getting more Energy cards into your Discard Pile, and then getting them back in play through Archaludon Ex‘s Assemble Alloy ability. Radiant Greninja wants to stay on the Bench and continuously activate Concealed Cards.
Fezandipti ex can sit on the bench and watch over your Active Pokemon, ready to use its Flip the Script ability when one of your Pokemon is knocked out, allowing you to draw three cards. Fezandipti ex doesn’t need to be on the bench when the knockout happens—you can play it from your hand afterward and still activate Flip the Script to draw cards.
Lumineon V played on the Bench allows you to activate Luminous Sign to search your deck for a Supporter card and draw it. So you can draw cards like Professor’s Research.
Squawkabilly’s Squawk and Seize is great for the early game, discarding our hand and draws 6 cards. So we usually will play everything possible before going for the Squawk and Seize ability.
Discard and Draw Value
Professor’s Research discards your hand to draw you 7 cards, so you’ll want to play as many cards as you need to get the most out of this draw option.
Earthen Vessel draws 2 Basic Energy Cards from the deck, but you’ll have to Discard a card to activate it. Discarding an Energy can put one in your Discard Pile for Archaludon Ex‘s Assemble Alloy to pull.
Battle Cards
Iron Bundle forces opponents to switch out their Active Pokemon, moving their win condition out and slowing them down.
You can use Boss’s Order to move a low-HP Pokemon to the Active spot, making it easier for you to get a knockout over a high-HP Pokemon or a key Pokemon opponent is relying on to win the game. It can also be used to move a 2 Prize Point Pokemon to the Active spot and knock it out for the win.
Professor Turbo’s Scenario and Scoop Up Cyclone let you put one of your Pokemon back into your hand. Professor Turbo’s Scenario forces you to discard all cards attached to that Pokemon, whereas Scoop Up Cyclone puts those cards in your hand. So Scoop Up Cyclone is the stronger card here, especially since it’s not a Supporter card.
Putting a Pokemon in your hand allows us to remove a damaged Pokemon that could get knocked out on the upcoming turn, or makes it easier for us to remove an Active Pokemon and move an attacker to the Active spot in its place.
Other Cards to Include
Origine Forme Dialga V evolves into Origine Forme Dialga V Star, which can attack with Star Chronos to deal 220 damage. You then get an immediate second turn, where you can play a Supporter card, attach an Energy card, and attack a second time.
