Top 8 OP12 Toronto Regionals Decks – One Piece Card Game

This weekend showcased an exciting OP12 competitive scene, with a variety of decks making strong showings at Regionals. The meta proved to be diverse, as players brought their best strategies to the table, and nearly every color managed to secure solid results.

Even after receiving a significant nerf, Blue Purple Luffy continues to thrive in Western tournaments, cementing its status as one of the most powerful Leaders in the OP12 meta. In this article, we’ll break down the top-performing lists from the 401 Games’ Toronto Regionals and take a closer look at what made each of them stand out.

Green Jewelry Bonney wins the Toronto Regionals, beating the popular Green Roronoa Zoro in the finals. We’ve talked about how Green Bonney has become an extremely strong option in the OP12 meta, especially with the nerf to Blue Purple Luffy. Green Zoro is an extremely strong option against Green Zoro and Red Silvers Rayleigh, two of the most popular choices among competitive players. This gives Bonney an edge in tournaments, especially if you match into multiple players on those decks. However, going against Black decks like Teach or Lucci can be brutal for the Bonney player.

The list is still leaning on the birdcage strategy with two copies of 8-cost kid. Mihawk is the newest addition to this deck in OP12 meta, giving you a 4-cost Blocker with 8,000 Power. We’re running tons of stall options like Carrot and 8-cost Doflamingo, aiming to slow down the opponent’s pace. The 10-cost Doflamingo has been a popular inclusion again since he shuts down Leader Zoro, forcing them to commit a 3-cost Event to re-stand him.

With Bonney’s stall mechanic, alongside the big bodies you’re dropping and Hody Jones aggression, the Green deck can be tough to beat, especially for those that are trying to rush the matchup before they run out of steam.

The Green Roronoa Zoro deck looks different than what we’re usually used to, running multiple East Blue-type cards in its list. Gyukimaru has been getting more popular in tournament lists, acting as a control option that’s more difficult to remove than Kuina. He can hit up 6-cost Characters, resting them and allowing your Leader to attack and potentially KO them.

Regarding the East Blue cards addition to this deck, the list includes the Nami search and the +2,000 Counter Rika. Rika can be comboed with Gyukimaru, letting you attack twice with him to add more pressure and even rest two of the opponent’s Characters.

We’re dropping to 2 Mihawk copies in this version to make room for the other cards, relying more on mid-game aggression and having Gyukimaru + Rika as a potential game swinger.

This Green Roronoa Zoro doesn’t care too much about controlling the board, including 3 copies of Electrical Luna for the aggressive decks. You’re able to shut down all of their rested Characters from attacking you, especially good against the likes of Red Silvers Rayleigh, and allowing you to focus all your attacks on their Leader.

Blue Purple Luffy is still standing strong, despite losing Charlotte Katakuri and Linlin. The list now adds Mihawk as a late-game control tool and a couple of mid-game defensive plays. We’re running 4 copies of Donquixote Rosinante, a value card that sets 2 Don as Active at the end of your turn. This lets us make stronger plays while having the Don needed to play Counter Events like Gum Gum Giant.

The plan with this deck is to combo out Leader’s effect with the 9-cost Sanji to develop two big bodies in one turn. From there, you can start overwhelming your opponent with high-power attacks, while protecting your Leader and making sure they can’t close out the game early on.

4th Black Rob Lucci

Cards: 51

4
Iron Body

Black Vortex

Although Black Rob Lucci lost tons of popularity compared to OP11, the deck is still managing to perform in tournaments, especially since it has a good matchup against Silvers Rayleigh and Green Bonney.

The list has multiple removal options like Rob Lucci, Brook, Jack, and 10-cost Kuzan. We’re also running a 1-off Kaido for the trash effect, which can come in handy against certain matchups like Teach. Cost reduction cards are essential for this deck to work, so we have the likes of Laboon, 4-cost Kuzan, Hina, and Tempest Kick.

One copy of Black Vortex for the Green Roronoa Zoro matchup, preventing the opposing player from activating their Leader’s effect to attack a second time. Another 1 copy of Iron Body for a 6,000 Power boost if you have 10 cards or more in your trash.

Top 8 Silvers Rayleigh

Red Silvers Rayleigh has been rivaling Green Roronoa Zoro for a while now, trying to overtake its number 1 spot. This is an aggressive deck that plays low-cost Characters and relies on Leader effect for the Power boost. You can go wide on the field with the help of 4-cost Luffy, cheating out a Sanji to develop two 6,000 Power attackers.

Rush Characters like 3-cost Zoro and Kid & Killer make sure you don’t run out of threats in the late game, continueing to set up multiple attacks until you can put your opponent down to 0 Life cards. From there, you can use your Leader effect to plan a finisher play, especially when they have a blocker. Using To Never Doubt–That Is Power! you can ignore blockers with your Leader effect to go for the finisher play.
