Rotation – One Piece Card Game

Bandai has finally unveiled more details about the future of the One Piece Card Game (OPTCG), specifically regarding the new Block system. Going forward, the game will feature two formats: Standard and Extra Regulation.

The Standard format will serve as the core of the game, with block rotations used to refresh the meta and maintain balance. Meanwhile, the Extra Regulation format will allow players to include all cards in their decks except for banned cards.

Bandai also revealed which cards will be rotation-proof, and noted that more cards may be added to this list in the future.

Cards Generally Permitted in Standard Regulation

Super Parallel Rare cards from past products, as well as cards that share the same card number, will generally remain legal for use in Standard Regulation regardless of whether they have been reprinted.

Starting from April 2026, newly released Super Parallel Rare cards and cards with the same card number will be introduced with the Block Icon “X”, and—like previous Super Parallel Rares—will generally be permitted for use in Standard Regulation.

Two Formats:

Standard Regulation

A fresh and strategic environment where players can continuously engage with new cards and tactics. By refreshing the card pool on a regular basis, all players can start from the same line and have the opportunity to explore new strategies together.

Extra Regulation

A format where you can enjoy battles freely using any of the cards released so far, including your favorite characters and most memorable cards. It offers a gameplay experience that lets you enjoy the grand history of ONE PIECE itself.

We believe these two regulations will provide a lasting foundation for players to enjoy the ONE PIECE CARD GAME more deeply and for even longer, in ways that match each player’s unique playstyle and preferences.
