Green Purple Lim has been crushing the competitive scene in the OP10 meta after receiving new supporter cards that give this Leader better mid-game consistency. Lim‘s effect revolves around the {ODYSSEY} type Characters, so you want to build the list with that in mind and have late-game cards to ensure you have a win condition.
The OP09 Leader didn’t see much success on release, but now with OP10 new cards, players have quickly taken Lim on a test run in tournaments, and she did not disappoint! There are different ways to build this deck, either going for a control list or more of an aggressive list that focuses on winning games quicker. I’ll share on of the popular lists and include other cards you can add to your deck to change up its gameplay.
Leader

Lim is a 4 health Leader with an effect that changes the One Piece TCG rules for you. Instead of playing your Characters in the Active state, from now on, you’ll play your Characters rested. This is a drawback since your opponent can now attack them and force you to play Counter cards to protect them. However, many of your {ODYSSEY} type Characters want to see rested Characters in play, so your Leader effect will benefit them.
Leader Lim‘s Activate: Main effect can be used once per turn to rest 3 of your Don and ramp up 1 Don. You can also cheat out 1 of your {ODYSSEY} type Characters with a cost of 5 or less from your hand. So for 3 Don, Lim is ramping us 1 Don so we can play high-cost Characters on earlier turns and cheat out a 5-cost Character. This lets us have an aggressive mid-game since we’re playing 5-cost Characters for 3 Don.

How to Play
Early Lims


If we’re going first, we can play 1-cost Lim early in the game before the opponent can attack her. Once she turns active, she becomes a tough Character to remove from battle since if the opponent tries to remove her through an effect, she can instead rest one of your {ODYSSEY} Characters and remain on the field. 1-cost Lim can set 1 of your {ODYSSEY} Characters as Active at the end of your turn. So she’s great if you want to prevent the opponent from attacking a valuable Character or if you need a blocker to be Active.
3-cost Lim looks at the top 5 cards from your deck and lets you add 1 {ODYSSEY} type card to your hand other than {Lim}. She’s a 5,000 Power Character that can set herself Active at the end of your turn if you have 3 or more rested Characters. This is useful because even later in the game, when she starts attacking, the opponent can’t attack to KO her and will have to rely on effects.
Although it’s tempting to play 3-cost Lim on turn 2, we want to activate the Leader effect to ramp up 1 Don and play one of our 5-cost {ODYSSEY} Characters. At Don 6 or 7, we can play 3-cost Lim and activate the Leader effect to cheat out a 5-cost {ODYSSEY} type Character.
5-cost ODYSSEY Characters
All 5-cost {ODYSSEY} Characters have effects that require you to have a certain number of rested Characters in play for their effects to activate. This is easier to achieve thanks to the leader effect, which rests every Character we play. The 5-cost Character we play will join in rested, counting itself as part of its effect condition.


5-cost Enel only needs 1 other rested Character to activate his On Play effect, drawing 3 cards and trashing 2 cards from your hand. You’re gaining an extra card and filtering your hand for better cards.
5-cost Sabo is another value card that activates his effect when he attacks. If you have 3 or more rested Characters, Sabo will draw 1 card when he attacks, so it’s important to attack with other Characters first to ensure you have 3 rested Characters. Sabo is a draw engine, activating his effect once per turn, so opponents will focus on removing him from play. If you can protect him, it’s usually worth keeping Sabo on your field to continue attacking and drawing cards from him.

5-cost Donquixote Doflamingo is a 6,000 Power blocker to protect your Leader. He’ll join in rested, but if you have 2 or more rested Characters, he’ll set himself as Active at the end of the turn, making use of his Blocker keyword. Donquixote Doflamingo‘s effect to set himself as Active at the end of your turn allows you to use Doflamingo as an aggressor and still have him as a reliable blocker.


Dracule Mihawk is a great play if you’re trying to go for more aggression. If you have 2 or more rested Characters, Dracule Mihawk can set one of your 5-cost or less {ODYSSEY} type Characters as Active, allowing you to attack with them a second time. This can be a setup for a finisher turn, or it can be used to ensure you KO a rested Character.
5-cost Edward Newgate needs two rested Characters in play to activate his effect, which means you’ll only want one rested Character before playing him. Newgate can rest one of the opponent’s Characters with a cost of 5 or less, allowing us to attack and potentially KO it. He also goes an extra step further, KOing a 3-cost or less Character with his effect, which can be game-changing if your opponent has a low-cost blocker in play.


Portgas.D.Ace and Adio are {ODYSSEY} type Characters with +2,000 Counter, but you might find yourself having to play them in some cases. Portgas.D.Ace has a powerful On Play effect, requiring you to have another rested Character to activate his effect. When played, Portgas.D.Ace can rest 1 of your opponent’s Characters with a cost of 5 or less, allowing you to attack it and potentially KO it.
4-cost Adio doesn’t have a strong effect, so you’ll mostly use him for his +2,000 Counter effect.
Control Option

6-cost Sakazuki is a control Character, allowing you to KO one of the opponent’s 5-cost or less Characters if you have 2 rested Characters in play. So before playing Sakazuki, make sure there’s 1 rested Character to activate his KO effect. Since Sakazuki is a 6-cost, we can’t play him through Leader effect, but playing him to remove a Character and shift the field presence in our favor is well worth it.
Late-game Win conditions


When you play 9-cost Adio, he’ll set 3 of your Rested Don as Active, enabling you to use those Don to activate the Leader effect and cheat out a 5-cost {ODYSSEY} type Character.
You can save 1 Don as Active for defensive turns since Adio‘s second effect lets you give your Leader or one of your Characters +2,000 Power by resting 1 Don. This effect only activates when the opponent goes for the attack, giving you a defensive effect to keep your Leader or Characters safe from an attack without solely relying on Counter cards. This effect can only be used once per turn, so you’ll only need to save up 1 Don.
9-cost Shanks can KO a rested Character regardless of its cost. He’s best played if your opponent has a high-cost rested Character on the field that you simply can’t remove through your attacks. Instead of leaving it there to attack you on the upcoming turn, Shanks can KO it while remaining on the field as an 11,000-power attacker.
Other Cards

3-cost Uso-Hachi is another +2,000 Counter Character to protect you from an opponent’s attack. However, he can come to use in the late game if you’re trying to set up the finishing play by resting a blocker. On Play, Uso-Hachi can rest one of the opponent’s Characters with a cost of 5 or less. This effect, though, can only be activated if you have 8 or more Don.
Turn-Based Gameplay
Going First
- Turn 1 (1 Don): 1-cost Lim.
- Turn 2 (3 Don): Activate Leader effect to play Sabo.
- Turn 3 (5 Don) (6 Don): 3-cost Lim + Leader effect. (The Character you play will depend on the game, but Enel for card draw, Doflamingo for blocker, or Dracule Mihawk/Edward Newgate to rest and attack a Character.)
- Turn 4 (7 Don) (9 Don): 9-cost Adio gives you 3 Dons to activate the Leader effect to cheat out another Character. Or Sakazuki + Leader effect.
- Turn 5 (9 Don) (10 Don): 9-cost Adio gives you 3 Dons to activate the Leader effect to cheat out another Character.
- Turn 6 (10 Don): 9-cost Shanks.
Going Second
- Turn 1 (2 Don):
- Turn 2 (4 Don): 1-cost Lim + Activate Leader effect to play Sabo.
- Turn 3 (6 Don) (7 Don): Sakazuki or 3-cost Lim + Leader effect. (The Character you play will depend on the game, but Enel for card draw, Doflamingo for blocker, or Dracule Mihawk/Edward Newgate to rest and attack a Character.)
- Turn 4 (8 Don) (10 Don): 9-cost Adio gives you 3 Dons to activate the Leader effect to cheat out another Character. Or Sakazuki + Leader effect.
- Turn 5 (10 Don): 9-cost Shanks or Adio.
Other Cards to Include




Since the Lim list already has a couple of {Straw Hat Crew} type Characters, you can fully commit to that line by adding a {Straw Hat Crew} searcher and more {Straw Hat Crew} type Characters.
- 1-cost Trafalgar Law is a searcher, exceptionally strong because he can draw you a 9-cost Roronoa Zoro for a more consistent strong late-game.
- 5-cost Monkey.D.Luffy is an {ODYSSEY} type Character that can either rest 1 of the opponent’s Don or a Character with a cost of 6 or less for you to attack and try to KO.
- 6-cost Sanji is a consideration for the +2,000 Counter and can be searched with Trafalgar Law.
- Roronoa Zoro can attack three times in one turn, but you’ll have to use up 3 Don to activate both his effects. This is worth it as you’re going for 3 high-power attacks that will likely win you the game or force tons of Counter resources from the opponent. You need to identify when you can win the game and attach as much Don as you can on Roronoa Zoro to go for more threatening attacks that can’t be easily countered. However, if you don’t believe you can win on a specific turn, it’s best to use up your Don to develop more Characters rather than attach them on Roronoa Zoro.




- 10-cost Doflamingo is another popular consideration to include in this list, giving you a way to stall out the game by preventing 3 of your opponent’s attackers from restanding on the upcoming turn.
- As for 2-cost Blocker Lim, she can protect your Leader or one of your Characters from an attack. However, she will join in rested because of the Leader effect, but if you have another rested {ODYSSEY} Character, 2-cost Lim can set herself as Active.
- Blast Breath is a powerful defensive Counter Event, returning 1 Don to give your Leader or one of your Characters +4,000 Power. This can completely shut down a high-power character from damaging your Leader or KOing a key Character on the field. You want to save it for the late game, so you don’t slow down your strategy with the deramp effect.
- As for Gum-Gum Dragon Fire Pistol Twister, it’s a value card that looks at the top 5 cards in your deck and lets you add 2 {ODYSSEY} type cards in your hand. This can be played in the late-game when you’re running low on Characters or need +2,000 Counter cards in your for a defensive turn. The Trigger effect on Gum-Gum Dragon Fire Pistol Twister can save you from a potential 5-cost or less attacker, ruining your opponent’s offensive strategy.
